Velana International Airport (VIA) has been serving as the main gateway to passengers travelling to Maldives for over 51 years. In order to revolutionise and establish the airport we see today into a world class airport, the Government of Maldives has planned an ambitious project worth over billion. The new development includes a new passenger terminal building, new runway, new fuel farm, new cargo terminal complex and a new seaplane terminal. NEW INTERNATIONAL PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING The new international passenger terminal building designed to offer IATA level B service will have an increased built-up area of more than 78,000square metres, accommodating up to 7.5 million passengers annually.
