But where is itleading us, and what will change as a result ofthe crisis?As they say “in any crisis lies opportunity”,so what will be the opportunities after thisone? One of the industry’s biggest bugbears– overtourism – is suddenly no longer aproblem. Distribution is another question, inwhich hotel operators and OTAs are findingthemselves at loggerheads about how thissituation should have been handled. Activityhas ground to a halt.In the months and years “post Covid-19”, ITB– in all its forms – will play a very major rolein pressing the “reset” button, and helpingthe industry trace a new roadmap, thanks tounprecedented thought leadership, bringingthe greatest minds of the industry togetherthrough the ITB Berlin Convention. Indeed,as we mentioned last week, this has alreadybeen the case in the absence of the physicalevent, thanks to the virtual event on ITB.com.In future, the role of the show will be moreimportant than ever in this sense.One thing is sure.
