Finewood Flooring & Lumber purchases approximately 900,000 board feet annually of Hard Maple, Yellow Birch, White Ash, Red and White Oak, Black Cherry, Black Walnut, and pitch pine (Select, No. 1, 2 and 3). The firm manufactures strip and plank unfinished and prefinished flooring, dimension stock, stair components, mouldings and trim. Christiano established Finewood Flooring & Lumber in 1982. He began his career in the forest products industry at a Hardwood sawmill in 1976. He is a graduate of Marlborough Academy, located in Marlborough, Mass. Christiano’s wife Candace is vice president of the operation. Married for 39 years, the two have one son, a daughter, two grandsons and two granddaughters. His son also works in the family business along with his wife. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking, silviculture, boating, and hiking. Christiano received the Eastern Nova Scotia Woodlot Owner of the Year Award in 2011 and a Stewardship Award in 2012 along with numerous provincial and municipal awards. Farmer began his career in the forest products industry in 1982 and has been involved in inside/outside sales for more than 30 years.
