Early on he played at Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s course, later at Prentiss Country Club, and in later years he frequented Rolling Hills in Crystal Springs. His dedication to the game involved his own golf cart, several different sets of golf clubs, multiple putters, a neglected wife and dog, and a drive to be the best. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Michael Wayne Clark. Surviving Clark are his wife of 41 years, Sandra Green Clark; sons, Vincent Clark and wife, Wendy of Memphis, TN, and John Clark Jr. of Monticello, MS; brothers, Calvin Clark (Sue) and Tom Clark (Carolyn); sisters, Barbara Norris and Pam Bolton (Hugh); sister-in-law, Sandy Clark; grandchild, Cliff Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS, had charge of arrangements and services were held at Monticello United Methodist Church. Graveside services followed at the Methodist Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Robinson, who was the owner of Robinson Stave Mill, recently passed away at C.B. the age of 89. He was born on October 6, 1926 in Laurel County, KY, the son of the late Chester and Nellie Bond Robinson. He was united in marriage to Imogene Bailey who survives. He is also survived by four children: Joe Robinson (Rita), Diane Robinson and Ronnie Robinson (Brenda) all of East Bernstadt, KY, and Deborah Nantz (Terry) of London, KY. Additional survivors include one brother, Hubert Robinson of London and one sister, Sally Robinson of Manchester, KY, seven grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Temple, located in Savannah, GA, and a member of C. D. Ward Lodge No. 961. Funeral services were held at Bowling Funeral Home with Tim Perry, Larry Robinson, Mike Seals and Jeff Lewis officiating. The burial followed at the Robinson Cemetery in London. Jack Rajala, CEO for Rajala Companies in Deer River, MN, recently passed away at his home. He was 77. He was owner and CEO of several forest products companies, including Rajala Mill Co. in Bigfork, MN. He 60 NOVEMBER 2016 n NATIONAL HARDWOOD MAGAZINE

was also a founding member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MN, following long and lasting relationships with Zion Lutheran and Bigfork Lutheran. Jack is preceded in death by his son and daughter-inlaw Nik and Teresa (Murray) Rajala; his brother Dean; parents Arthur and Mabel Rajala; and former wife Carole (Grimsrud) Rajala. He is survived by his children, Allison Ahcan (Steve), John (Lisa Brandenburg), Katherine Thomey (Nick) and Nathan (Jennifer Kowalski). He also is survived by his sisters Lois (Ron) and Delores (Craig), and brother Randy (Constance). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids had charge of arrangements. Elsie Brown Starr, 88, passed away recently at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN, after a short illness. She was born in Grenada, MS, to John Meade and Wilma Doolittle Brown. Starr was one of the first women to join the Lumbermen’s Club of Memphis. She was well-known in the lumber industry as she both purchased and sold Hardwood lumber to companies globally. She was a member of Kingsway Christian Church for six decades and was active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship Group. Starr was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton E. Starr; and infant son, William Brown Starr. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia G. Starr.
