FRANKLIN, PA– The National Hardwood Lumber Association, headquartered in Memphis, TN, recently hosted an Introduction to Hardwood Lumber Grading at Ron Jones Hardwood Sales Inc., located here. The class was taught by NHLA Lumber Inspector Tom Byers. Fourteen participants learned about the basics of Hardwood lumber terminology, how lumber is graded and how to physically grade lumber. The class also had a tour of the lumber yard facility to gain a better understanding of how Hardwood lumber is manufactured and processed. The NHLA Lumber Inspectors teach these Introduction courses for individuals to learn general information about Hardwood lumber grading principles.
