Deze elfde produktie van
Waste of Time is een tweemans programma
van Frits Jansen en Wouter Steenbergen.
Ditmaal geen simpele ontmoeting tussen
twee mensen, geen luchtige vlucht
uit sleurbestaan, wellicht ook geen
harmonieus misverstand.
Twintig koffers, die door hun draagbaar
en onthullend karakter en hun
RASHOMON
'Rashomon' speelt in Japan. Tijd:
middeleeuwen. Land ontwricht door
aardbevingen, epidemieen en opstanden
- honger.
Voorstelling en tentoonstelling onder
de titel: 'Web of de kleine tragedies',
gespeeld door HET KLEIN PAN-
TOMIME THEATER.
Meestal spint de spin het web, waar
zij zelf in gevangen wordt.
Dit motto was het uitgangspunt voor
alle scenes in de voorstelling. Het
einde van een scene is ook het begin
van de volgende seine, zonder dat er
verder sprake is van enig doorlopend
verhaal. Het gaat alleen om de strijd
afwisselend gebruik borg staan voor
snelle verplaatsing (zowel naar, als
in het theater), zullen FRI en WO
omringen in de pakkende show: 'No
Flowers For Shirley', waarin zij balance
ren op de rand van realistiese
eenvoud met het gevaar in surrealistiese
valkuilen te stappen.

This is thejr eleventh production:
a two-man show by Frits Jansen and
Wouter Steenbergen. They are creators
of the show, and co-owners of the
Waste of Time Company. In previous
productions they made a distinct impression
on the audience, and provided
memorable highlights.
Van dit verhaal heeft de Japanse cineast
Kurusawa een beroemde, klassiek
geworden film gemaakt. De voorstelling
die de groep brengt wil niet op
deze film lijken.
De emoties erin zijn specifiek oosters
(Japans); de thematiek is meer westers
herkenbaar, hoewel de Japanse situatie
gehandhaafd blijft en de vorm lonkt
naar het NOH-spel. Eigenlijk lijkt
die vorm veel op de wijze, waarop
Brecht oosterse vormen poeties-westers
verwerkte in zijn stukken.
This production is based on a very
old Japanese tale. It is set in the
middle ages, when most people in Japan
were poor and justice had its own
way.
In the play we hear four different
stories about one incident, a murder.
Afterwards one keeps on wondering
who's story was true, the murderers,
the victims, the victims wifes or
the reconstruction by the servant of
the law.
The same story was adopted for film
by the famous Kurusawa. For those who
saw the film the difference in attitude
will become obvious, especially,
in this production there is more
western emotion.

This performance and picture
exhibition shows the spider in a
series of sketches in which there is
an ingenious and subtle fight of move
and countermove: the spider catches
himself.
The inspiration comes from Halina
Witek, polish by origin, who has been
trained in pantomime and in art.
'No flowers for Shirley'
Twenty suitcases being transported
and used in ramarkeble many ways.
The show balances on a fine edge
between simplicity and surealism
WESPETHEATER
Het Wespetheater is een theatergroep
die projekten uitvoert, die door de
spelers op basis van improvisatie
tot stand komen, soms begeleid door
iemand van buitenaf. Ze spelen een
aantal stukken tegelijkertijd, zowel
in theaters als in buurthuizen,
jongerencentra e.d.,en op straat.
Ze hebben ook een speciaal programma
gemaakt waarmee ze de wijken van de
grote steden intrekken. Uit "Het
wijkenfeuilleton" zullen ze spelen:
Deel 8 - D. WIJNKOOP EET BAKLAVA en
deel 11 - ALI BRIEST GAAT COLPORTE-
REN. Verder wordt gespeeld: HET
VERBODEN VERHAAL VAN DE LANDMAN en
HET GEHEIME LIEFDESLEVEX VAN ME-
VROUW ROZEMAN.
The WESPETHEATER performs and improvises
in many different environments.
Pieces are created for each district
and its inhabitants, and played either
in the street or indoors.
One such piece is 'The Forbidden Story
of the Man from the Country',
about a man born and bred in the
countryside who sees it slowly go
to rack and ruin; this was for Waterland,
an area rich in waterways and
pastureland just north of Amsterdam.
During the festival, the Wespetheater
will do*two productions, also in
the open air. 'Juuts Magic' is about
Judith, whose parents and aunt Adalia
are most unpleasant to live with;
life at school is not easy either.
Her boyfriend gives her magic words
which can put a spell on the world
Alltogether an exciting performance
for all ages.
