Portaria. Tem-se acesso à
portaria pela entrada do
convento que dá diretamente
para a rua. Foi feita entre 1749 e
1755. Os quadros de azulejos
que revestem suas paredes,
representando cenas da vida
contemplativa dos anacoretas,
foram assentados em 1782.
Nesse mesmo ano colocaram-se,
sobre os azulejos, oito painéis
de autor desconhecido. Em
todos eles aparecem grandes
vultos da ordem franciscana.
A pintura do forro merece
especial atenção, por se tratar

Mannerist paintings dedicated
to the life of the Virgin Mary.
There are only assumptions
on their authorship.
Vestibule. The vestibule is
reached through the convent
door leading directly to the
street. It was made between
1749 and 1755. The tile panels
covering the walls, depicting
scenes from the anchorites’
contemplative lives, were laid
in 1782. That same year, eight
panels by an unknown author
were placed above the tiles.
All of them feature great
figures from the Franciscan
order.
The ceiling painting is
particularly worthy of notice: it
