As peças expostas nesta exposição
são os artefactos utilizados
para a montagem dos presépios
ou “lapinhas”, como são designados
na nossa Região. Ao longo
de mais de vinte anos de existência,
o MEM tem vindo a adquirir
essas interessantes figuras de
presépio, enriquecendo o acervo
do museu.
As exposições que apresentam
ao público, anualmente, nesta
festividade cíclica, a que o povo
madeirense designa de “Festa”,
tem como objetivo a divulgação
do trabalho de diferentes artesãos
madeirenses, tradicionais
ou modernos, que criam figuras
“ALVORO”

que compõem os nossos presépios
tradicionais de Rochinha
ou de Escadinha, os chamados
“pastorinhos”, ou que concebem
presépios modernos que
se podem designar “de autor”,
nas mais variadas matériasprimas,
com o objetivo de fazer
perpetuar um ritual simbólico,
com tradição secular no nosso
arquipélago.
The pieces displayed in this exhibition
are the traditional artefacts used
in the production of the local “lapinhas”
as they are named in Madeira.
Throughout more than twenty years
of existence, MEM has been acquiring
these interesting nativity figures,
enriching its collection.
Every year in cyclical festivity, the
so-called “Festa” the museum
presents to the public an exhibition
aiming to promote the work
produced by different Madeiran artisans,
whether traditional or modern,
and who create figures that really
make the traditional “Rochinha”
or “Escadinha” nativity scenes (the
“shepherds”), or who conceive modern
nativity scenes - the so-called
“Author nativity Scenes” – out of the
most different raw materials, aiming
of preserve this symbolic ritual and
ancient tradition of our archipelago.
O MUDAS.Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira apresentará
ao público, no próximo dia 16 de dezembro, a exposição “Alvoro” da
autoria do artista plástico madeirense António Barros. Este projeto
constitui a primeira exposição individual deste artista na madeira,
contará com o comissariado de Isabel Santa Clara Gomes e textos de
Tolentino Mendonça. Integrando, escultura, objetos, fotografia, vídeo
e instalação, o autor propõe-se ensaiar, num formato próximo ao antológico
onde serão apresentadas peças produzidas entre 2000 e 2017,
um diálogo com as obras da exposição permanente do Museu.
Autor de uma obra cuja filiação oscila entre Poesia Experimental
Portuguesa e o movimento Fluxos Internacional, António Barros expõe
desde da década de setenta do século passado, com propostas estéticas
em que dimensão plástica e a metafórica se materializam cindindo
entre a sua função e a carga simbólica que as define na semiótica
social, em estreita ligação com a palavra e a sua função referencial de
(re)nomeação. Ao objetualizar a palavra (poemas-objeto) atribui-lhe
uma dimensão gráfica que alude à experiência individual e social onde
a critica e a ironia são presença constante.
The MUDAS. Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira, opens a new exhibition
on December 16th - “Alvoro” by the Madeiran artist António Barros. The first individual
exhibition of the artist in Madeira is curated by Isabel Santa Clara Gomes,
with texts by Tolentino Mendonça.
(…) Sculpture, objects, photographs, video and installation, (…) with the works
produced between 2000 and 2017. (…) By objectifying the word (object-poems)
it assigns a graphic dimension that refers to an individual and social experience
where criticism and irony are a constant presence.

The OTL – a project by the Madeira
Ethnographic Museum Educational
Services “Museum: a Leisure Area”
has as its main goal the interaction
and socialization among young people
and the possibility to grant to all
visitors who attend the museum to
enjoy its gardens.
The markets will be scheduled
according to the pre-registrations
carried.
