Micro-Tech’s VacStent Gi
We are very pleased to announce that
Micro-Tech’s revolutionary designed
VacStent Gi is now available and being
utilised by NHS England.
The VacStent GI combines two reliable
methods for the treatment of leakage
and anastomotic insufficiency: while the
fully encased stent completely covers the
defects, the wound cavity is drained by
continuous suction.
The VacStent Gi is an innovation in
endoscopic therapy for leaks because it
COMBINES the advantages of the covered
stent with those of improving wound healing
through vacuum drainage.
The innovative product consists of a siliconecoated,
self-expanding super elastic nitinol
stent with a cylindrical polyurethane sponge
on the outside, connected via catheter to
a vacuum source. A continuous suction of
-80 to -120 mm Hg is applied to the sponge.
VacStent GI is as easy to apply as any GI
stent. It won’t dislocate because the suction
keeps it in place, even in difficult topographic
locations of the GI tract. However, it allows for
the open passage of endoscopic instruments,
enteral nutrition, and intestinal contents.
VacStent GI has obtained the CE mark as a
class 2 A medical device. Clinical applications
in the oesophagus have so far been carried
out as part of clinical studies, accompanied
and then unaccompanied implantations.

GastroPanel® is a simple and effective noninvasive
test to identify atrophic gastritis
and Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) prior to
endoscopy.
Atrophic gastritis – a chronic condition of the gastric
mucosa, is considered to be the greatest independent
risk factor for developing gastric cancer and guidelines
recommend that individuals with extensive gastric
atrophy undergo regular endoscopic surveillance
