Dr. Zbigniew Sobol<br />
We received congratulations from Dr. Zbigniew Sobol who is a member of our<br />
society since 1955. Dr. Sobol is currently 90 years old and lives in South Bend,<br />
Indiana with his wife Eve. He was a friend of Dr. Zietak, the founder of our organization.<br />
Drs. Sobol, Zietak and Kulczycki were classmates at the Polish<br />
School of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr. Lukasz Kulczycki<br />
is 105 years old and lives in Falls Church,Virginia.<br />
Dr. Sobol is a Diplomate of the American Orthopedic Board of Orthopedic Surgery<br />
and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He was born<br />
in Poland in 1926, finished medical school in Edinburgh, England, and came to<br />
the United States in 1948. He was in private practice and retired several years<br />
ago.<br />
Dr. Sobal is well known for his lifelong charitable efforts and has performed surgery<br />
for free in many different countries. He spent his vacations on 20 trips<br />
working in various Polish hospitals at the invitation of the renowned professor,<br />
Wiktor Dega. For his charitable work, he was awarded an honorary membership<br />
in the Polish Orthopedic and Traumatology Society and received an Order of<br />
Merit (Krzyz Zaslugi) from President Kaczynski.<br />
