David R. Appert, M.D.<br />

Orthopedic Surgeon, Society Supporter<br />

1939-2005<br />

Dr. Appert studied medicine at the University of Toronto, finished his Orthopedic<br />

Surgery & Sport Medicine residency at University of Buffalo, New<br />

York, and started his private practice in 1971. He was an attending at Rush<br />

North Shore Medical Center in Skokie, Swedish Covenant Hospital & Medical<br />

Center, and at Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center. He retired in<br />

2002. Dr. Appert treated many Polish patients for orthopedic problems and<br />

Charles Brachmanski, DDS.<br />

1910-2013<br />

Dentist, Past Vice President & Secretary of our Society<br />

Dr. Brachmanski was born in Poland and finished dentistry at the University<br />

<br />

mother). He practiced dentistry for 45 years at Kedzie and Fullerton and retired<br />

at age 82. He lived with his family in Lincolnshire for 40 years. He was<br />

a member of our society since 1956.<br />

Ewa Kiljanska-Buch, M.D.<br />

1945-2015<br />

Anesthesiologist, <strong>PAMS</strong> Board Member<br />

Dr. Ewa Kiljanska-Buch was a graduate of the Warsaw Medical Academy<br />

and of the Anesthesiology Residency at Northwest University Medical<br />

School in Chicago. She was a greatly respected attending physician at<br />

Condell Hospital in Libertyville for over 40 years until her recent retirement.<br />

She and her husband, Roman Buch, were wonderful hosts to many of our<br />

retary<br />

for many years and always supported our society of which she was a<br />

member for more than 30 years. We remember her as generous, fun loving,<br />

avid traveler, and a good friend to all.<br />
