Health and Wellness Seminars with Free Screening Services
Health and Wellness Seminars from the first event became a
great forum for integration, information, and medical help
in the Polish Community. From February 2010 to October
2011, the headquarters of the Polish National Alliance held
seminars on health. The initiators of the project were Dr.
Dorothy Anasinski, Margaret Ptaszynska and Frank Spula.
Dr. Anasinski is a prominent Chicago periodontist and
professor at UIC. Ms. Ptaszynska, is a radio journalist, and
Frank Spula is the president of the Polish National Alliance.
During these free seminars, Poles living in the greater Chicago
are were able to listen to the lectures provided by doctors
on some of the most important and popular topics related
to human health. During the seminars free medical
examinations of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol,
fat and ECG were offered by the School of Medicine TTI.
The coordinator for the Tukiendorf Training Institute was
Mr. Rick Stefaniak.
These seminars played an important educational role and
also contributed to the deepening of knowledge in the field
of medicine, quality of life and health. After each lecture,
doctors answered questions presented in the room and
shared their tips on general health with the audience.
Over the course of seven seminars, a few thousand people
found help, medical care, and knowledge about better,
healthier and longer life.
To accommodate the public, seminars were also, conducted
in the Archer Heights community of Chicago at the offices
of PNA Bank.
