Dubai Water Canal 

turns the Emirate into island 

T 

he Dubai Water Canal is one of many 

great ideas that HH Sheikh Mohammed 

bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President 

and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of 

Dubai, had to add a unique commercial and 

tourist showpiece to Dubai, offering a new way 

of life. Sheikh Mohammed is always keen to roll 

out creative, visionary ideas that define new 

concepts for people's happiness and welfare. 

From an environmental perspective, the 

canal will enhance the water quality of the 

entire waterway, including the Creek, Business 

Bay and the Water Canal, by 33 per cent and 

increase the turnover of water in the entire 

system to four times a year. From a tourist 

perspective, the canal, with its engineering 

and architectural features, will act as a tourist 

hub that will raise the profile of Dubai as a 

go-to tourist destination. 

This ambitious canal project promises to 

change how yachting is perceived in the UAE, 

inspiring more people to explore the possibilities 

of on-water living and entertainment, and 

allow them to sail through the heart of Dubai 

within the comfort and safety of the canal. It 

will continue to be significant because it will 

remain for future generations to enjoy and 

develop further.

delivers sailing

Polish catamaran builder “Sunreef 

Yachts” has recently delivered 

24.4m sailing yacht “Diana” 

from the Sunreef 74 line. According to 

Sunreef Yachts, it is the most technically 

advanced edition of this model. With 

carbon bodywork elements and cutting 

edge rig, “Diana” is a stately sail 

catamaran offering all the luxury and 

comfort one could wish for, without 

compromising the performance. 

UAE's Gulf Craft modifies new yachts to meet 

Dubai Canal rules 

Gulf Craft has announced that all the fly-bridge motor yachts it manufactures 

for the UAE market will meet Dubai Water Canal requirements. The company’s 

fleet of Majesty Yachts and Nomad Yachts will all be constructed in accordance 

with the height limits of Dubai Water Canal, as specified by the regulator, the Dubai 

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). 

The latest decision is part of the award-winning builder’s ongoing efforts to help 

owners seamlessly experience the emirate’s newest waterway, allowing them to 

sail through the heart of Dubai within the comfort and safety of the canal. Craig 

Rodgers, Operations Manager at Gulf Craft’s Majesty Yachts and Nomad Yachts 

facility, said “By doing this, we ensure that our customers can enjoy all the leisure 

marine experiences the UAE has to offer”, adding that the first modified yachts 

will be available for review at the Dubai International Boat Show which will kick 

off at the end of February 2017.

الإبحار بيخوتهم يف القناة دون الدخول يف مشاكل الرتفاعات وبحيث يستطيعون الستمتاع مبا تقدمه القناة 

من ابحار مريح والتمتع باملناظر اخلالبة التي تتيحها مدينة دبي.‏ 

واأكد كرييغ رودجيرز مدير العمليات يف الشركة اأن جلف كرافت قامت بالفعل بوضع هذه التعديالت موضع

Lexus launches its 

first ever super yacht 

Lexus launched its first 

885-horsepower sea-going Sport 

Yacht. The Sport Yacht is powered 

by two high-output Lexus V8s, based 

on those used in the Lexus high 

performance RC F and GS F cars. The 

42-foot long boat can carry up to eight 

people at a top speed of 49 miles per 

hour, or 43 knots, according to Lexus. 

The boat's hull and other structures 

are made from carbon fiber reinforced 

plastic, a material frequently used in 

high-performance exotic cars. 

Sunseeker unveils 68 sport yacht 

Sunseeker International has revealed its 68 Sport Yacht during the London 

Boat Show 2017. The yacht’s sleek exterior lines have been enhanced by 

the addition of enormous new hull windows that gives its sporty profile a 

more contemporary look. They also significantly improve the amount of natural 

light in the living area of the luxury cruiser. Other new features on board the 68 

Sport Yacht that are sure to grab more attention include the innovative powered 

glass door between the cockpit and saloon. 

The door can be lowered into the floor to create one incredible entertaining space. 

The cleverly engineered mechanism also enables the door to open conventionally. 

When it comes to performance, the new 68 Sport Yacht cuts an impressive figure 

on the open water, with speeds of up to 38 knots (70kms/h) depending on the 

engine configuration chosen. 

James Bond's yacht 

up for sale 

The sailing yacht “Regina”, known 

from the James Bond film “Skyfall”, 

is up for sale for a mere €8.85m or 

about $9.3m. A jewel of the seas which 

has much more to offer than just film 

star allure. Built in 2011, the yacht was 

refitted last year and now has maximum 

speeds of up to 12 knots. The yacht can 

accommodate up to twelve people with 

a total of six cabins, its listing says. 

Satellite television, a high-end music 

system and a jet ski are some of the 

amenities on board.

كشفت ‏صن ‏سيكر العاملية عن يخت 68 الرياضي اأثناء معرض لندن للقوارب لعام 2017. فقد مت 

حتسين التصميم اخلارجي لليخت من خالل اإضافة نوافذ ‏ضخمة تضفي مظهرًا معاصرًا اإىل ‏شكله 

الرياضي مما ‏ساعد على زيادة كمية الضوء الطبيعي يف منطقة املعيشة يف هذا اليخت الفاخر.‏ يحتوي 

هذا اليخت الرياضي على مميزات اأخرى من املوؤكد اأن تلفت اهتمام حمبي اليخوت،‏ من بينها باب زجاجي 

يفصل بين غرفة التحكم والصالون.‏ 

ميكن خفض هذا الباب حتى يصل اإىل الأرض لتوفر مساحة كبرة للتمتع والتسلية.‏ كما اأن الآلية الهندسية 

الذكية التي ‏صممت هذا الباب متكِّنه اأن يفتح بالطريقة التقليدية.‏ وحينما نتحدث عن الأداء،‏ فاإن اليخت 68

مثل املخارج املستخدمة يف ‏سيارات لكزس ذات 

الأداء العايل RC F وF .GS يعد طول اليخت 42 

قدماً،‏ وميكنه اأن يستوعب حتى 8 اأشخاص على

مت عرض اليخت الشراعي ‏"ريج ينا"‏ املعروف من 

فيلم جيمس بوند " سكايفول"‏ للبيع مقابل 8.85 

مليون يورو اأو حوايل 9.3 مليون دولر فقط.‏ فهذا 

اليخت الفريد من نوعه ميتلك العديد من الإمكانيات 

التي تتعدى ظهوره يف فيلم حيث مت بناوؤه عام 2011 

ومت ترميمه العام املاضي.‏ فقد اأصبحت الآن اأقصى 

‏سرعة له 12 عقدة.‏ ميكن لليخت اأن يستوعب حتى 

12 ‏شخصً‏ ا يف اإجمايل 6 كبائن.‏ كما يتضمن اليخت 

خيارات متنوعة من وسائل الراحة من بينها:‏ غرفة

Maktoum announced the development 

of ‘Dubai Harbour’, a unique new 

waterfront destination that will feature 

the Middle East and North Africa 

(MENA) region’s largest marina. 

The project, located on King Salman 

bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, in 

the area between Jumeirah Beach 

Residence and Palm Jumeirah, also 

known as Mina Al Seyahi, will be 

developed by Dubai’s leading holding 

company Meraas. 

The iconic luxury waterfront 

destination, spread over 20 million 

sq. feet, will include a 1400-berth 

marina as well as a cruise ship port 

and terminal, a shopping mall covering 

3.5 million sq. feet, an events arena, 

luxurious residential buildings, hotels, 

offices, retail stores, public services, 

restaurants and cafes and ‘Dubai 

Lighthouse’. 

The masterplan of the new 

destination integrates Skydive Dubai, 

Dubai International Marine Club 

(DIMC) and Logo Island into a single 

community. To be developed in phases, 

the ‘Dubai Harbour’ project will be 

completed in four years once ground 

has been broken. 

HH Sheikh Mohammed said: “We 

are happy that this new project, which 

represents a unique and innovative 

new addition to the region’s tourism 

landscape, opens up a range of new 

opportunities to investors. ‘Dubai 

Harbour’ creates a venue for new 

investments that support our vision 

for this important sector and promises 

to further accelerate the expansion 

of the tourism industry in the UAE, 

which is already growing rapidly. I am 

confident that the project will have a 

highly positive impact on our entire 

region’s tourism sector. We are keen to 

encourage new projects and promote 

investments that will contribute to 

bringing to the region more tourists 

interested in experiencing this part of 

the world.” 

His Highness noted that this project 

is inspired by the Gulf ’s long maritime 

tradition, which has been inextricably 

linked to the evolution of trade and 

commerce in the region.

مرفأ اليخوت األكر يف املنطقة ويتسع لنحو 1,400 

يخت ويشمل ميناء للسفن السياحية الضخمة 

ومبنى بطاقة استيعابية 6 آالف راكب.‏

صورة جديدة ملستقبل السياحة يف املنطقة،‏ مبا 

توفره من خيارات تدعم املستثمرين وتفتح

On a spectacular cruise around 

Dubai Marina, Dalal Al Awaid, 

General Manager of Fun Fun Boating, 

gave Marasi Yachts Magazine some 

insight into the company, its gorgeous 

fleet, as well the incredibly attractive

a motto telling you to enjoy boating

The founder of Fun Fun Boating, 

Mr. Mohamed Al Suwaidi, wanted 

to share his boating hobby and create 

it a stress free solution to boating

worth individuals. Al Awaid gives us

Safety comes first 

Members can receive an international 

license within two days of joining the 

Fun Fun Boating Club. To help build 

the confidence of first-timers, a captain 

accompanies them on their first two 

trips and ensures they know where all 

the storage areas, on board facilities, 

and safety gear are on the boat. They 

are also given guidelines for policies 

and procedures to follow and each boat 

is fitted a GPS system to help members 

navigate their adventures. 

As an additional safety measure, 

the tracking system on board is linked 

directly to the the company should 

they need to send a rescue boat to sea. 

Al Awaid adds, “We want people to 

feel as safe they would be in their own 

homes. This is, after all, their home

Emirati Ali Al Lanjawi continues 

his remarkable achievements in world 

championships on Yamaha wave 

runners. In 2016, he won first place 

in the International Water Ski World 

Championships in Sweden, and the 

Pacific Championships in Estonia. 

Last October, he won two silvers in the 

World Championships in the USA. 

He also participated in a number of 

European championships, starting 

from Croatia where he won the Sitting- 

Jetski category in the European Alpe 

Adria Jet Ski Tour. 

Al Lanjawi thanked Al Yousuf 

Motors for their support and for 

providing him with a complete 

technical team for support before and 

during championships. He noted that 

the company’s continuous support 

has enabled him to win important 

international championships. 

Al Lanjawi emphasized that he is 

looking forward to another successful 

season using the waverunner GP1800

the UAE Jet Ski Championship, which

During the sponsorship signing agreement between 

Mohamed Iqbal Alyousuf and the champions 

Endurance Race 2017, the Bahrain 

Marathon in October 2017, the Euro 

Jettribe Jetski Championship (IJSBA), 

and the World Championship in 

Arizona, USA in October 2017. 

Al Lanjawi noted that the wave

to control in turns and quick to speed 

from zero to 70 miles. 

Future Champions 

Al Yousuf said that the company 

also supports junior contestants in the 

14-16 year age group. The company 

realises the importance of encouraging 

young people and developing their 

skills. Young contestant, Sultan Al 

Hammadi, said he is delighted with his 

achievements in the past two years. He 

appreciates the support he gets from

him to do his best to raise the UAE 

flag in championships across the 

world. Al Yousuf Motors also sponsors 

young contestant Salman Younis Al- 

Awadi, who highlighted that what’s

A journey on Integrity 93 

Integrity 93ft is a big step forward, for those who want 

luxury at its best, and more room for friends and family. 

It consists of 4 huge bedrooms, all with privet toilets, a 

walk in closet in the Master bed room, a big kitchen and 

saloon and dining area. 

And for the sun lovers integrity 93ft has a large sun 

bathing area at the bow of the boat with seats and tables, 

and a large sun bed on the Fly bridge, the fly bridge also has 

a bar area and a dining area. 

The crew area is separate from the rest of the boat but yet 

comfortable and spacious, with two rooms and a salon area 

and 2 bathrooms. 

The 93 was designed and engineered in-house. Where the 

outward appearance of many motor yachts have suffered in 

the quest for interior volume, the Integrity 93 designers have 

avoided such boxy looks with carefully considered exterior 

lines which are well balanced and proportional from any 

angle you look. Her local owner has expressed his delight at 

her strikingly elegant exterior complete with fly bridge set 

up for equally elegant entertainment. 

This vessel comes fully loaded with customer selected 

options including the large fly bridge canopy with electric 

sunroof for comfort under the sun and zero speed stabilizers 

for comfort underway or at anchor. A hydraulic transom 

platform makes launching the yacht’s tender or jet ski 

an easy task while providing a “beach” for enjoyment of 

watersports and swimming.
