Yes, it’s the New Year. Yes, we all said we were going to
get super fit, tan and attractive this year. ..or maybe
that was just me. Regardless, feeling great doesn’t
mean that we have to eat gluten-free cardboard until we’re
skeletors. January 1 is the start of National Lose Weight/
Feel Great Week and is a great time to kick-start our goals
for 2017. If you don’t feel like cooking for yourself the
whole week (and still want a bit of fun), head to Gary Rack’s
Farmhouse Kitchen downtown and indulge in their waistfriendly
menu. They focus on a farm-fresh lifestyle, do not
cook with butters, creams or use excess fat, and a significant
portion of their menus items are either gluten free, vegan or
vegetarian. Some of their signature items include a crushed
avocado toast with ricotta and kale pesto for $9, or a fried
green tomato with green beans, goat cheese and roasted tomato
for $11. They also offer salads made with farm-fresh
