Surveys are sent to members regularly for facility feedback, and owner Pleasant Lewis even has his personal email posted in the facilities, so members can contact him. Variety of Amenities “Everyone who is coming into Fitness CF is trying to do something different, whether it is training, losing weight or rehab from an injury, and it’s our job to find out what it is to help them,” says Susan Adams, the facility’s area director. “We offer options for every fitness level, from beginning exercisers to elite athletes. Our team can assist with a low-impact workout designed specifically for seniors or demonstrate the right techniques for a high-intensity workout.” With locations in St. Cloud, Mount Dora, Clermont and Dr. Phillips, all ages are welcome to come through Fitness CF’s doors for any reason and find staff members there to help. Besides the latest in exercise equipment, members can also enjoy watching a movie while working out in the cardio theater, taking part in group fitness classes, or having private or small group training with the facility’s personal trainers. Other amenities include Hydro- Massage sessions, on-site tanning, infrared saunas, pro shops and smoothie bars, all to enhance members’ experience. Each location also has women’s only workout areas and on-site child care that has an expansive play area/kiddie’s gym that is supervised by backgroundchecked, CPR-certified employees and that has live cameras, so you can check on your children while exercising. The gym experience is no longer all about lifting weights. Fitness CF has introduced new functional training areas and innovative new equipment, like Keiser Pneumatic Technology and Fit3D, a 3D body scan that shows, as Susan quotes, “every bump and lump in your body.” This scan helps target troublesome areas of your body where you and/ or your personal trainer can help build through training. “It’s a great PROMOTIONAL FEATURE tool, especially if you are trying to achieve weight loss or reach some athletic goal. Not many facilities carry these in Central Florida, and we have these scans at all four of our facilities,” says Susan. It’s the People It’s not about just getting people in and out but developing relationships with the members to where they become a part of the Fitness CF family. Unlike many other health clubs, Fitness CF strives to have members actually use their memberships. People is what first drew Susan to the company to begin with. She started in community outreach and advertising and moved up during the past 12 years into corporate membership, management improvement and to her current position of area director. Now she is continuing the family ideal by hiring diverse employees and welcoming tonyrappa@capturevideo-photo.com members of all ages, from children to senior citizens in the Silver Sneakers program. “I like, more than anything, the people we have at Fitness CF,” she said. “For me, it’s the interactions with the staff and the members. n Bay Meadows Elementary Bay Meadows Elementary will open a STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics — Career Academy magnet in the upcoming school year. The program will provide students with extended learning opportunities and experiences beyond the standard curriculum by offering a comprehensive, cross-curricular exploration of careers. Under the agreement between The Harris Rosen compiled by Lauren Salinero Foundation and Rollins College, Rosen will fund the remainder of participating students’ costs of attendance at Rollins after the college applies available federal, state and internal financial-aid dollars.
