Katia Berger of Windermere<br />
was part of the Randoph-Macon<br />
Academy Air Force Junior ROTC unit,<br />
VA-091, that won first place in the Air<br />
Force Association Air Force Junior<br />
ROTC Virginia State Drill Meet. In<br />
the competition, Katia won first place<br />
with the Inspection Team, second<br />
place with Armed Exhibition, and<br />
third place with Armed Regulation.<br />
She was also recognized in April<br />
for outstanding participation in the<br />
ROTC program at the school. She received<br />
the Veterans of Foreign Wars<br />
Award, which is presented to a senior<br />
and junior cadet who display a<br />
positive attitude toward the AFJROTC<br />
program, demonstrate lofty personal<br />
standards, and maintain at least a<br />
3.0 GPA. A senior this past school<br />
year, Katia is the daughter of proud<br />
parents Robert and Kathryn<br />
Berger.<br />
