Note: * the slightly higher than necessary energy for space heating is due to simplification of the
model. The energy in the return water from the tank is sometimes higher than the space heating
energy demand of the house, therefore the supply temperature to the floor is a slightly higher than
necessary, resulting in a surplus of energy for space heating.
7.1.4 200 l Tank
If a tank of 200 l is used as the heat storage tank, the required mass flow rate of district heating
flow is 14 kg/h. The annual heat loss of the tank is 93 kWh. The average temperature of return
water from the tank is 15.1°C over the year. The average return temperature to the district heating
net is 18.2°C.
If a combisystem is used to utilize the heat in the return water of the tank for space heating, approx.
half of the return water with a temperature higher than 25°C can be used for floor heating which
correspond to a yearly saved energy of 136 kWh. The average return temperature to the district
heating net is decreased by 1.2 K.
