persons with different backgrounds could be so much alike.
Astonishing! What more is, when we arrived at the airport,
we got our luggage, a minute after a totally strange
boy was giving you a hug. And of course I hugged him,
too. But the most incredible thing was, that after the hugs
and talking, we went to the bus, and we were sitting listening
to my music, and he liked it very much. Then he gave
me a present and I gave him mine. And in that moment, we
were friends. In his fl at his mom was awake. His father was
asleep. But after fi ve minutes we were in the kitchen eating
my fi rst meal in a stranger’s house, and I was pleased
because the food was good like the company. So you can
imagine that it was diffi cult to have the time to process all

these new impressions. But it was nice for a change to let
go of your usual life. Just be a part of something new and
exciting, and you were not supposed to do anything you
were used to do.
As I said in the beginning, I believe that we all have to
cross our personal borders, we will have to do this so we
can grow mentally. To live in a new environment between
people you hardly know to begin with is different and exciting.
But to end up with a friendship because you have the
guts to take the risk to cross a new border, that is something
of great value.
