Edel adlig: die Weinbar Procacci der Familie Antinori in Wien.
bfine: Fein, schnell und doch gesund
Ausgezeichnet, gesund und schnell: drei
Adjektive, die bis anhin kaum in Zusammenhang
mit «kurz etwas essen gehen» gebracht
werden konnten. Abhilfe schafft ab sofort das
neu eröffnete Restaurant bfine an der Seefeldstrasse
in Zürich mit seiner Philosophie
«Wohlbefinden und Gesundheit mit Genuss
verbinden». Auch diese neue Essadresse trägt
die Handschrift von Roger Bächtold und seinem
Team. Unter dem Credo, die Last zur Lust
zu machen, ist ein raffiniert funktionelles und
klares Design entstanden. So erfüllen zum Beispiel
die eigens entworfenen Sitze nebst ihrer
angestammten Aufgabe noch eine weitere
Funktion: Ein integrierter Känguru-Beutel
bietet sicheren Stauraum für die Handtasche.
Selbst Zahnstocherdispenser und Trinkglasregale
erreichen Designstatus!
Procacci: Wein mit Begleitung
Die italienische Adelsfamilie Antinori eröffnete
in Wien eine neue Weinbar, das Procacci.
Verantwortlich für den Umbau war auch hier
das Zürcher Büro P.5. Das spartanisch klösterliche
Ambiente als Ursprung der Räumlichkeiten
musste erhalten bleiben.
Music: Chillout vom Feinsten
English Summary
Free spirit between mainstream
and avant-garde
Roger Bächtold, the owner of the
interior design firm P.5 is not a
typical representative of Zurich’s
creative world. He is unpretentious
and exhibits none of the behavior
which is so widespread in these
circles. He is a team player with a
motivated crew of five and he intends
to keep it that way.
His conversations are direct and
to the point, his quick mind and
mental leaps a challenge for anybody
trying to keep up. Bächtold
is a hard worker, a free spirit, a
chameleon who fits in anywhere,
while keeping his feet firmly on the
ground. His style is not obviously
recognizable. Functionality takes
top priority. He refuses to focus on
details, aiming instead for a complete,
well-rounded final product.
An architectural draftsman by
trade, Bächtold applied for a position
at a well-known design agency
and was selected due to his distinct
handwriting. He is a restless
spirit, driven by his own dissatisfaction
and desire to excel. He
designed and opened up a bar,
which proved to be the springboard
to independence, culminating in
his own design studio.
One of his secrets to success is
that he insists on getting to know
his clients before he accepts an
assignment. He combines old and
new, established and surprising
elements. His often whimsical designs
are implemented by a carefully developed
and maintained network
of craftsmen based on solid workmanship.
“b fine”, an innovative
restaurant offering fast, yet healthy
food, which recently opened in
Zurich, reflects the philosophy of
Roger Bächtold and his team.
Specially designed chairs, for example,
featuring a kangaroo pouch
where purses can be safely stored.
Even the toothpick dispensers
have designer status!
Another recently completed project
is Procacci, a wine bar in Vienna
opened up by an Italian noble
family. The challenge in this case
was to retain the original stark
monastic environment while at the
same time showcasing the sophisticated
food and wine culture of Italy
with transparence and subtlety.
Bächtold is also a popular DJ in
Zurich’s nightclubs and contributed
to the fifth Messerli CD featuring
trendy chill-out sounds.
