Selling or importing bubble gum is illegal in Singapore and is fined with
S$1,000. Similar bans include dropping litter (S$1,000), dancing in public
(S$5,000) and skateboarding (S$500). Yes, indeed - “Singapore: the fine city”.

In Thailand, lèse-majesté is a serious offence and may result in a jail sentence
of up to 15 years.
Don’t dance when visiting the karaoke bar!
According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “Ecstasy
always goes with wine and music”. In order to fight the use of Ecstasy and
other life-style drugs, the Government of Vietnam will issue a ban on dancing in
karaoke bars starting September 1st, 2009.

At least if you are a faithful Muslim residing in Malaysia. 2008 the National
Fatwa Council ruled that Muslim women who wore trousers risked becoming
sexually active or turning into lesbians. The council also stated that, “Yoga
could cause (Muslims) to stray from their faith because its movements are
according to the style and traditions of Hinduism”. As a recommendation, the
council added that “There are other ways to get exercise. You can go cycling,
swimming and eat less fatty food.”
Don’t use a water gun when celebrating New
Year!
Although New Year celebrations in Cambodia tend to be a wet affair, it is illegal
to use water guns to drench your neighbour during the festivities.
