Leipzig’s Sights

Discover the wealth of attractions in the trade fair and
merchants’ city of Leipzig. Your bus trip will start at the
imposing main train station complex and then bring
you to the Little Gohlis Castle, a real jewel of the rococo
period. It will move onto the idyllic little house where
the German poet Friedrich von Schiller lived in Leipzig,
the magnificent Waldstraßenviertel district filled with
buildings from the time of the founding of the German
Republic, past the monumental Federal Administrative
Courthouse right down to the Monument to
the Battle of the Nations, Europe’s largest monument.
You will also see unique sights on our subsequent walking
tour through Leipzig’s city centre. That includes the
St. Thomas church where Johann Sebastian Bach lived
and made his mark for many years, the Old and New City
Hall and, needless to say, the St. Nicolas church, which
is where Leipzig’s Peaceful Revolution started in 1989.

Erdmann Heine, who quickly made Leipzig’s
