Shaping of relations
and
well-being
Auditorium 2/2002
UnternehmenMensch ®
A depressed mood, dull prospects: this
situation can be observed in many individuals
and companies alike. It may
manifest itself in the form of a poor
business outlook, increasing pressure
of competition, the battle for competent
junior staff, lack of employee loyalty,
management problems; or as an increasing
pressure to perform within
tight deadlines, fear of losing one’s job,
stress, dissatisfaction to the point of
capitulation – resulting in a deterioration
in health and aggravation of professional
and private conflicts.
How do we deal with this scenario? Usually
we endeavour to solve a problem
as it arises. But often the next one is
already on the horizon. How long can
we cope? Will this approach protect
us from a “major crisis”: a corporate,
management, performance, relational,
loss-of-meaning or life crisis?
Recognising the causes
Don’t crises mainly occur because we
always want to “have” – and for this
having we lose sight of “doing” and
The programme to promote true leadership
“being”? Don’t we – especially if we
“have” achieved a lot – also want to “be”?
To be healthy, content, happy, successful
and fulfilled, to be unique and be
part of a unique company. To do everything
necessary to go from “being” to
“having”. Don’t we want to truly lead
and live?
UnternehmenMensch® (“human enterprise”)
shows the way to true leadership.
The human being is hereby seen
as a non-separable unit consisting of
personal, private and professional segments
and who must be guided from a
holistic and entrepreneurial point of
view. As the smallest corporate unit
he is at the same time integrated into
corporate processes, which are likewise
configured according to holistic and
entrepreneurial principles. UnternehmenMensch®
is thus a matter of forming
a link between the interests of
the company and the needs of the individual:
by people-orientated business
management and corporate leadership.
This innovative leadership culture forms
the basis for a long-termcompetitive
edge.
Three control fields for holistic
development
UnternehmenMensch® is backed up
by an individual development process
in the following control fields (diagram):
1. Strength of action & shaping the process:
Marketing structure and leadership
culture are examined as keys to professional
success (“doing”); entrepreneurial
thinking and doing is encouraged
in teamwork. This process can
only take place in the company itself.
2. Shaping of relations & well-being:
The well-being of body, mind and soul
is the key to successful relational management
(“having”) in all areas. This
well-balanced state is achieved and intensified
in the revitalising atmosphere
of a resort hotel.
3. Leadership awareness &
self-optimisation:
The key to contentment and fulfilment
(“being”) is getting to know oneself,
being in control of one’s own life. The
integration of intellect, feelings and
intuition stimulates advanced personal
development: ideally at a place of quiet
and isolation.
A person who takes responsibility for
shaping his life in all three control
fields – from “being” and “doing” to
“having” – improves the quality of his
life and thus also leadership quality
within the company. This true leadership
replaces a depressed mood with a
confident one and a clouded outlook
by a bright one.
