• Check of gr<strong>an</strong>t beneficiaries:<br />
“The <strong>NA</strong> shall give assur<strong>an</strong>ce on the reality <strong>und</strong> eligibility of the<br />
activities supported with EU f<strong>und</strong>s as well as on the legality <strong>an</strong>d<br />
regularity of the <strong>und</strong>erlying operations. To that effect, the <strong>NA</strong> shall<br />
<strong>und</strong>ertake so-called “primary checks”.”<br />
“The primary checks to be <strong>und</strong>ertaken by the <strong>NA</strong> in relation to<br />
programme beneficiaries consist of the following types:<br />
- Analysis of final reports;<br />
- Desk check of supporting material submitted by beneficiaries<br />
at final report stage;<br />
- On the spot check <strong>und</strong>ertaken upon completion of a<br />
supported activity;<br />
- System audit of recurrent beneficiaries.”<br />
