USER MANUALENGLISHDUST FILTER MAINTENANCE (PANEL FILTER)The hopper dust fi lter must be cleaned regularly to maintain the effi ciency of the vacuum system. Follow the recommended fi lterservice intervals for the longest fi lter life.1.2.3.4.5.6.WARNING!– Wear safety glasses when cleaning the filter.– Do not puncture the filter.– Clean the filter in a well-ventilated area.– Wear appropriate dust mask to avoid breathing in dust.Drive the machine on a level floor, engage the parking brake and turn the ignition key (64) to “O”.Open the latches (6), lift the hopper hood (16) and ensure that the support rod (17) is in place.Inspect the dust fi lter upper part (12) for damage. A large amount of dust on top of the fi lter is usually caused by a hole in thefi lter or a damaged fi lter gasket.Unscrew the fi lter shaker assembly mounting knobs (13). Lift the fi lter shaker assembly (11) to access the fi lter panel.Lift the dust fi lter (12) per and remove it from the machine.Clean the fi lter using one of the methods below:Method “A”Vacuum loose dust from the fi lter. Then gently tap the fi lter against a fl at surface (with the dirty side down) to remove loose dust anddirt.NOTETake care not to damage the metal lip which extends past the gasket.Method “B”Vacuum loose dust from the fi lter. Then blow compressed air (maximum pressure 6 Bar) into the clean side of the fi lter (in theopposite direction of the airfl ow).Method “C”Vacuum loose dust from the fi lter. Then soak the fi lter in warm water for 15 minutes, then rinse it under a gentle stream of water(maximum pressure 2.5 Bar). Let the fi lter dry completely before installing it back into the machine.NOTEFor proper drying, lay the fi lter horizontally on two spacers to allow the air to fl ow under the fi lter.7.NOTEFor a better cleaning, it is allowed to wash the fi lter with water and non-lathering detergents.This provides better quality cleaning but reduces the life of the fi lter, which will have to be replaced more frequently.Using inadequate detergents can damage the fi lter.Install the fi lter in the reverse order of removal and note the following:• Install the fi lter with the wire gauze up.• If the fi lter gasket is damaged or missing, it must be replaced.NOTEBefore replacing fi lter clear debris from dust plate located under fi lter.Check that the debris skirt at the rear of the dust plate swings freely.SR 1601 D3 / LPG3 / P3 33019216(2)2009-05 A 27
