DAN PEARLMAN — THE DESTINATION EXPERIENCE
From vision
to reality
OPENING
In den vergangenen vier Jahren arbeitete
Yasha Young mit über 300 Künstlern
zusammen. Neun Gastkuratoren
aus allen Teilen der Welt kuratierten
die Eröffnungsshow mit über 150
Künst lern. Mit neun verschiedenen
Wer ken von acht Künstlern wurde die
Eröffnung im gesamten Stadtbild auf
Plakaten und digital beworben. Insgesamt
kamen fast 20.000 Menschen.
Heute besuchen 800 bis 1000 Menschen
täglich das Museum.
Yasha Young has collaborated with
over 300 artists in the past few years.
Nine guest curators from all over the
world worked on the opening show,
which involved more than 150 artists.
Nine pieces of art by eight artists were
printed on posters and displayed all
over the city in the run-up to the museum’s
opening. Around 20,000 people
attended the opening. The museum
now attracts 800-1,000 visitors
every day.
BRAND DESIGN
Das Brand Design zu Urban Nation mit
den Werten „Connect. Create. Care.“
besteht aus Wortmarke und Visual,
das sich aus den Buchstaben „UN“ zusammensetzt.
Die Formensprache des
„UN“ zitiert die neue Tür des Gründerzeithauses,
hinter der sich das Museum
wie eine Kathedrale öffnet. Die Buchstaben
bilden zudem eine Bühne für
die Kunst und die Künstler und sind
starke Leitplanken für die Kommunikation
des URBAN NATION MUSEUM
FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART.
The URBAN NATION brand design
– complemented by its core values
“Connect. Create. Care.” – consists of
a word mark and a visual made up of
two letters, “UN”. The design references
the new door to the Gründerzeit-era
building behind which the museum
opens up like a cathedral. Additionally,
the letters form a stage for the art
and the artists, and provide a strong
foundation for the museum’s communication
activities.
MAKING OF
"Under Construction“ – das Buch doku
mentiert den vierjährigen Weg
einer Vision, die Realität geworden
ist. Der Ausstellungskatalog „Unique
United Unstoppable“ komplettiert
das schwarz-weiße Buch. Der Entstehungsprozess
ist in einer 50-minütigen
Dokumentation zu sehen und
auch arte hat URBAN NATION begleitet.
“Under Construction“ – the book documents
the four-year path from vision
to reality. The exhibition catalogue
“Unique United Unstoppable“, rounds
off the k-and-w duo. The development
process was also documented
on film. The renowned TV broadcaster
ARTE also covered parts of URBAN
NATION’s journey.
COOPERATIONS
In den vergangenen vier Jahren hat die
Direktorin Yasha Young ganze Häuser
in Leinwände und die Stadt Berlin in
ein Outdoor-Museum verwandelt. Eine
Vielzahl dieser Motive haben wir unter
dem Motto „We share the city“ zur
Eröffnung des Museums „mobilisiert“
– mit einer fahrenden Ausstellung auf
Fahrzeugen des Carsharing-Anbieters
DriveNow.
In the past four years, curator Yasha
Young has transformed the city
of Berlin into an outdoor museum by
turning whole buildings into canvases.
Together with the car sharing company
DriveNow, we “mobilised” a great
number of these pieces by creating
an exhibition on wheels entitled “we
share the city“.
