Meet & Golf
Teilnehmer zum «Beat the pro and hit the green» heraus.
More than 100 enthusiastic golfers gathered in September for the
Meet & Golf at the new Andermatt golf course. Fun and games were
the order of the day. A mini competition at the thirteenth hole took
place in this spirit. André Bossert (centre of photo), the Swiss golfing
pro and ambassador of the Andermatt golf course, challenged competitors
to 'Beat the pro and hit the green'.
1. august
On Swiss National Day a patriotic atmosphere prevailed in the Sportsbar.
Visitors celebrated the 1 August to alpine horn music and the
fine art of flag throwing. An awe-inspiring atmosphere took hold as
Andermatt was bathed in the radiance of the fireworks. The party
mood soon reached its pitch and the dancing went on into the early
hours of the morning.
In kalten Winternächten erzählten sich früher die
Urnerinnen und Urner gerne Sagen und Legenden. Uri
besitzt eine der umfangreichsten Sagensammlungen
der Schweiz. Dies ist das Verdienst von Josef Müller,
der zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts als Spitalpfarrer
in Altdorf wirkte.
So kamen
im Verlaufe der Jahre rund 1’600 Sagen zusammen,
die er in drei Bänden herausgab.
Das Buch «Urner Sagen» enthält eine Auswahl der
bekanntesten Urner Sagen.
ins Bockshorn jagten. Oder warum der jenseits
des Klausenpasses gelegene Urnerboden nicht den
Glarnern, sondern den Urnern gehört. Dem Buch ist
auch eine CD beigelegt. Auf ihr erzählt der Urner
Schauspieler Sigi Arnold die Sagen – genauso, wie
dies schon vor Jahrhunderten viele Urnerinnen und
Urner an Winterabenden gemacht haben.
Long ago the people of Uri used to tell myths and
legends during the cold winter nights. Uri boasts one of
the most extensive collections of legends in Switzerland,
thanks to Josef Müller, the hospital pastor in Altdorf at
the beginning of the 20th century. In this capacity he met
people from all walks of life. He would have the patients
relate their stories and myths. Over the years he built up
a collection of around 1,600 legends, which he published
in three volumes.
The book entitled 'Urner Sagen' is a selection of the most
famous Uri tales. They relate how the Uri people tricked
the devil into building the bridge in the Schöllenen Gorge
and then got the better of him. Or why the Urnerboden
pasture on the far side of the Klausen Pass belongs
to the people of Uri and not those of Glarus. The book
comes with a CD. On it, Uri actor Sigi Arnold tells the
legends – just like the Uri folk used to do on winter
evenings centuries ago.
