Hi-Rel Relay Switches Rated up to 5M Lifecycles
Fairview Microwave, Inc. has
released a new line of electromechanical
relay switches
that improve system capabilities
and simplify design with a
solderless, reliable connection
able to withstand the elements,
shock and vibration.
Typical applications include
Hi-Rel electronics, commercial
aviation, military communications,
broadcast systems,
medical equipment, Satcom,
test and instrumentation.
Fairview’s new line of electromechanical
relay switches
consists of 44 different 12 and
28 V designs offered in SPDT,
SP3T, SP4T and SP6T configurations
that support either latching,
failsafe or normally open
actuators with usable features
such as indicators, terminations
or TTL logic. They operate
in frequency ranges from
DC to 26.5 GHz and feature a
D-SUB multi-pin connector
interface for secure and reliable
DC voltage and command
control functions.
These switches are designed to
be compact and rugged, supporting
N-type or SMA connectors.
Typical performance
includes 90 dB isolation levels
and 0.15 dB insertion loss.
Power handling capability is
rated up to 600 watts.
They are highly reliable with an
operational temperature of -20
to +70 °C and a rating of up to
5M lifecycles when used in a
make before break (cold switching)
condition. All models in
this line are RoHS and REACH
compliant and guaranteed to
meet MIL-STD-202 test conditions
for vibration and shock.

6LoWPAN Sub-GHz
Mesh Network
Radiocrafts announced a complete
wireless IP mesh solution
based on fully integrated RF
modules. 6LoWPAN is a lightweight
version of IPv6 allowing
the user to access each sensor
and controller from the internet
using IP addressing. The radio
protocol uses IEEE 802.15.4 g/e
providing bi-directional communications
with short transmission
pulses that enables dense
networks with high reliability
and very low power consumption.
A complete RIIoT network
includes sensor nodes based on
the RC1882CEF-IPM module.
The module can be configured
as any of the required network
nodes, a border router, a mesh
router or a leaf node. The new
Wireless IP Mesh solution is
low cost, does not require any
license or subscription, and is
very low power.

Fixed 1520 MHz
Synthesizer
Z-Communications, Inc.
announced a new RoHS compliant
fixed frequency phase
locked loop model SFS1520C-
LF operating in the L-band.
The SFS1520C-LF is a plug and
play PLO allowing for quick
integration and designed to produce
a fixed signal at 1520 MHz
when utilized with an external
10 MHz reference oscillator.
This simple to use PLO features
a typical low phase noise performance
of -100 dBc/Hz, -110
dBc/Hz, and -133 dBc/Hz at the
1 kHz, 10 kHz and 100 kHz offsets,
respectively.
The SFS1520C-LF is designed to
deliver a nominal output power
of 3 dBm while operating off a
supply of 5 Vdc and drawing
28 mA and a phase locked loop
voltage of 3 Vdc while drawing
10 mA.
This unmatched product features
a typical harmonic suppression
of 20 dBc and spurious suppression
of 65 dBc. It is housed in
Z-COMM’s standard PLL-V12C
package measuring 0.6 x 0.6 x
0.22 in. The SFS1520C-LF is
also ideal for automated surface
mount assembly and is available
in tape and reel packaging.
