This book explores the specificity and the<br />
heterogeneity of spaces for opera during<br />
the eighteenth century from a multidisciplinary<br />
point of view. Architects, musicologists<br />

Giuseppina Raggi is researcher at the University of<br />
Coimbra, specialized in early-modern architecture and<br />
in artistic cross-cultural exchange. Currently, she is<br />
co-coordinator of the project «1719–2019» Filippo Juvarra,<br />
Domenico Scarlatti e o papel das mulheres na promoção<br />
da ópera e do teatro em Portugal.<br />
Maria Ida Biggi is associate professor of Theatre and<br />
Performance History at the Ca’ Foscari University<br />
of Venice and the director of the Institute of Theatre<br />
and Opera of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice.<br />
She is author of books, articles and essays dedicated<br />
to stage design and theatre architecture and she<br />
curated various exhibitions.<br />
