Topic of the diploma thesis<br />
Interactive whiteboards for teaching mathematics<br />
Objective of the thesis<br />
Introducing new technologies into the classrooom is often difficult, because they<br />
require training, clarification and repeated practice. This thesis investigates the<br />
role of interactive whiteboards in the classroom, as well as materials for the<br />
teaching and learning of mathematics.<br />
Methods<br />
The beginning of the thesis consists of a theoretical part, which presents well<br />
known educational media with their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore,<br />
the technical features of interactive whiteboards are covered. Subsequently, the<br />
thesis explains how teachers could introduce interactive whiteboards and how<br />
teaching materials should be designed. It also describes how a teacher can reuse<br />
traditional materials with this new technology.<br />
The second part of the thesis covers teaching materials for pr<strong>im</strong>ary, secondary,<br />
and upper secondary education. Selected examples for each age group, which are<br />
particularly suitable for use on interactive whiteboards, are described.
