Ozen Engineering Inc, California’s sole distributor and consultant for ANSYS, is jump-starting its plans to expand its global customer base
by means a new series of initiatives and partnerships. Founded in 2003 by Dr. Metin Ozen it currently has seven full time employees. Metin
brings with him 25 years of experience in Applied Mechanics together with an outstanding passion for numerical calculations.
The Ozen team has become a leader in the
whole Bay Area in applying simulation
technology and FEA to MEMS, Fracture
Mechanics and Fatigue, Ball Grid Arrays
(BGA’s), Heat Transfer, Dynamics and CFD.
The consulting expertise developed by the
company in those disciplines is testified by
the continuously updated list of its top
references.
Biomedical Analysis: AnyBody & ANSYS
Another branch of expertise for the Ozen
team is the one related to Biomedical
Analysis, with particular regards to the
modelling of the mechanics of the human
body: the company has recently developed
its own Java-coded program “Any2Ans”,
which allows the coupling between
AnyBody and ANSYS packages. The product
has been recently unveiled to the
public during a conference at Stanford
University (California), further developments
of the software are currently being
planned.
The most relevant news for the company is
the recent establishment of a new jointventure
with two major founding members
of the TechNet Alliance: CADFEM and
EnginSoft. In full accordance with the
TechNet Alliance spirit, the new partnership
is aimed at combining the consulting
expertise, engineering talent and product
knowledge of each single member into a
single subject so as to better serve the North
American market and therefore also catching,
together, new business opportunities.
The mentioned agreement as already led to
a first concrete step: a new office has been
planned in the Greenville County (South
Carolina). The location sounds really promising
in terms of business opportunities for
the CAE consulting market, especially with
respect to the automotive industry, since
many companies operating in such field are
planning to open an office in that area. In
addition to that both the Clemson
University, BMW, Timken Research, and the
American Society of Automotive Engineers
(SAE) have already confirmed their future
presence in a district that it is likely to become
an excellent research center for the
automotive industry.
