Candidate Statement - Social Director
Eduardo Ortega Jr.
Hello. I joined the Sacramento Valley Region on September of 2010. My national PCA Anniversary date is September 2007. As an
active new member in SVR I quickly started participating in club events. At the New Member Tour on September of 2011 it was
announced that Board elections were coming up, and the club was looking for volunteers to serve on the Board. Later on I was elected
as your Social Director for 2012.
When it comes to Club Dinners and Tours, I have worked this year with both seasoned members and new members. To all of them,
I have provided my best efforts to get their budget proposals approved timely and to coordinate event promotion through the SVR
Website, email Blasts, and in the Drifter. Not a single club dinner nor tour has been cancelled this year. The members’ participation has
been constant.
I ask you to re-elect me for the Social Director position for 2013. I will work closely with you to get your Club Dinner or Tour
approved and get it promoted. I will look together with all of you for new venues and activities, especially for new members, I will be
there for you helping you with your event. Finally, please come to the Planning Meeting in January where we can kick off the 2013
social events calendar with a blast!!
Thanks for your consideration.
Candidate Statement - Secretary
Matt Deter
I joined PCA in 2003 after purchasing my first (and so far only) Porsche. I expected to have lots of fun driving the car, but I never
expected to find such a great group of people to share that experience with. It didn’t take long before I became deeply involved in
the club, first serving as Autocross Chairman and then Competition Director. In 2012 with your support, I returned to the board as
Secretary. I would like to continue for another year and respectfully submit my candidate statement for the 2013 position of SVR
Secretary. Thank you for your support.
Candidate Statement - Competition and Safety Director
Collin Fat
I have been an active member of the Porsche Club Sacramento Valley Region since 2007. As an avid autocrosser and track enthusiast I
have also participated in the many other activities the club plans annually such as rallies, concours, tours and dinner gatherings.
I currently drive a 2003 996 Turbo.
Married to wife Elaine for 30 plus years with two grown children, Natalie (28) and Bryan (23).
As your Competition and Safety Director, I can bring my organizational and years of business experience to help: 1) improve
participation in our events, with a goal of increasing new member participation 2) to provide effective marketing for our events , and 3)
increase awareness of our competition events through our award winning website. As a passionate Porsche enthusiast I hope to continue
the great job done by my predecessors, Bop Peake and Matt Deter to build our competition events into the best in our region.
My past board experience is quite varied and locally I served six years on the board of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce with the last
year as president. I currently serve on the board of the Sacramento Restaurant Association as vice president. Other boards that I have
participated in include the Asian Pacific Business Association, and San Diego Community College Foundation.
I understand that the success of any volunteer organization such as ours depends on volunteers who are willing to spend the time and
effort to serve the club and will commit my energies enthusiastically.
