Some general observations and ramblings about things going on.
• The photo used for the cover of the October DRIFTER
appeared to have some vertical streaks in the background.
We originally thought there was a problem with the
printing, then we checked the original photograph (by
Collin Fat) and saw that the streaks were present also (as
well as in other photographs of that same background). We
then remembered that the photograph was taken just before
we went to the final banquet at the Parade on Saturday.
And it had rained that afternoon. Even though the photo
was taken in the covered area right at the front door of the
Little America Hotel, the sign was in area that was exposed
to some of the rain (probably run off from the roof). Case
solved.
• The 2nd annual Tech Tactics West event by PCA has been
announced. It will be held at the PCNA (Porsche Cars
North America) Training facility in Ontario, CA. Tech
Tactics is dedicated to all things Porsche related to Tech.
You can attend one or both days. Cost is $50 per day and
includes breakfast and lunch. There is a limit of 125 people
per day. Dates are December 1st and 2nd. Registration is
available at pca.motorsportreg.com
• The SVR DE scheduled for December 21st, has been
cancelled.

• A couple of events of note in 2013. The ALMS (American
Le Mans Series) race at Laguna Seca will be held May
16th to May 18th. And the Monterey Motorsports
Reunion (the old Historics) is scheduled for August 16th
to 19th. The featured marque is the Chevrolet Corvette.
• The annual Christmas Tree decorating event held at the
California Auto Museum has just been added to our
calendar. It will be held the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
The decorating starts around 2 pm and there is a potluck
that begins at 4 pm. The club has two trees to decorate.

• Pete Stout will become the new Editor of Porsche
Panorama effective January 2013. You may remember
Pete when he was the guest speaker at our Christmas
Party in 2009 at Niello Porsche. He brought with him
a 2011 Boxster Spyder that was one of thirteen in the
country at the time for the press to evaluate. The car was
featured on the cover of January 2010 issue of the drifter.
Pete comes to PCA from Excellence Magazine where
he was the Editor-in-Chief for the past 14 years. Expect
some changes next year as it relates as to how PCA will
be communicating with its membership.
