The tour will depart from the Paralympic Village Transport Mall and will begin<br />

with the bus arriving at The Mall start/finish area. This part of the tour will include<br />

observation of The Mall start/finish area. The tour will proceed from the start line<br />

on The Mall and will follow the eight-mile loop, with commentary and visual<br />

observation as the bus progresses around the course. The bus will follow the<br />

exact route unless unable to do so, in which case a verbal description of the<br />

course section will be given while the bus performs a deviation before rejoining<br />

the course. The athletes and officials on the tour will remain on the bus throughout<br />

the tour.<br />

Technical meeting<br />

Time: 10:30<br />

Location: Chefs de Mission Meeting Hall, Paralympic Village<br />

A maximum of two representatives from each NPC may attend the technical<br />

meeting. If necessary, an interpreter or team attaché may also attend. The<br />

technical meeting will be conducted in English with simultaneous translation into<br />

French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.<br />

The IPC <strong>Athletics</strong> Technical Delegate will preside over the technical meeting. The<br />

agenda will be as follows:<br />

– Welcome by the IPC President or his representative<br />

– Welcome by LOCOG (<strong>Athletics</strong> Manager)<br />

– Introduction of the IPC <strong>Athletics</strong> Technical Delegate and main Games officials<br />

– Timetable<br />

– Call Room reporting times<br />

– Qualifying rounds for races<br />

– Starting heights and raising of the bar<br />

– Protests and appeals<br />

– Opening and Closing Ceremonies<br />

All questions and proposals concerning the procedures of the <strong>Athletics</strong><br />

competition, which will be dealt with during the technical meeting, must be made<br />

in English on the Questions for the Technical Meeting form. This form must be<br />

submitted at the Stadium TIC or the SIC by 14:30 on 28 August. A summary of all<br />

submitted questions and answers will be distributed during the technical meeting.<br />

Confirmation of starting heights, distances and progressions<br />

The qualification procedure for the track events (number of rounds, number of<br />

heats in each round, and method of progression from each round), Triple Jump<br />

board distances, starting heights, and the raising of the bar in High Jump will be<br />

determined by the Technical Delegate. <strong>Team</strong> leaders will be informed of the<br />

decision at the technical meeting.<br />
