<strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> <strong>2012</strong><br />

Media and Television<br />

<strong>Guide</strong>lines<br />

These terms and conditions apply to all events on<br />

the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> and sanctioned by the<br />

<strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> unless they have their own<br />

accreditation terms.<br />

NEWS ACCESS REGULATIONS<br />

Only representatives of licenced/authorised media<br />

licencees may make sound and/or image recordings<br />

of the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> event. Non-rights<br />

holding broadcasters (whether television, radio or<br />

new media) together with any media representative<br />

accredited for news access must comply with the<br />

News Access Regulations specified in this<br />

document.<br />

GENERAL MEDIA PROTOCOL<br />

The following regulations are to be followed by all of<br />

the media:<br />

1. A daily armband or bib is necessary to walk<br />

inside the gallery ropes. All media representatives<br />

entitled to be issued with such armband/bib<br />

must remain not more than one arm’s length<br />

from the ropes and appear to be part of the<br />

gallery at all times.<br />

2. Players are not to be distracted during play.<br />

Do not interview players or ask players to pose<br />

for photographs during their rounds, practice<br />

sessions or on the putting green, except by<br />

prior arrangement with the player.<br />

3. If an interview is to be conducted in a practice<br />

area, either the range or putting green, it must<br />

be done up against the ropes and not in areas<br />

where it could be distracting to other players.<br />

4. Do not disturb players at the 18th green until they<br />

have checked, signed and returned their score<br />

cards. Media are not allowed in the<br />

scoring facility.<br />

5. The media member assumes all risk and danger<br />

incidental to the game of golf and releases the<br />

<strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> from any and all liabilities<br />

resulting from such cases.<br />

6. During weather delay situations, no-one other<br />

than players and essential staff will be allowed<br />

into locker rooms. However, whenever possible,<br />

arrangements will be made to provide players for<br />

interviews during such situations depending on<br />

availability and interest.<br />

PRINT MEDIA REGULATIONS<br />

Media accreditation will only be issued to personnel<br />

on assignment from recognised and accredited<br />

publications, as determined by the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong><br />

<strong>Tour</strong> in its sole discretion. Freelancers must be<br />

on specific assignment and submit proof of the<br />

assignment to the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong>. The<br />

<strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> may at its sole discretion<br />

grant or deny accreditation.<br />

Other than for editorial news coverage, media<br />

representatives shall not use any content in any<br />

commercial manner except with the written<br />

consent of the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong>.<br />

PHOTOGRAPHER REGULATIONS<br />

Media (photographic) accreditation will only be<br />

issued to personnel on assignment from recognised<br />

and accredited publications, as determined by<br />

the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> in its sole discretion.<br />

Requests for accreditation must be made by<br />

the publication or news agency and not by the<br />

photographer. The <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> may<br />

at its sole discretion grant or deny accreditation.<br />

Accreditation affords a photographer the right to<br />

publish material solely for editorial purposes and<br />

any proposed commercial use is subject to the<br />

prior written approval of the <strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong>.<br />

Cameras may only be used by accredited media<br />

and in accordance with the following protocol:<br />

1. A daily armband or bib is necessary to walk<br />

inside the gallery ropes. All media representatives<br />

entitled to be issued with such armband/bib<br />

must remain not more than one arm’s length<br />

from the ropes and appear to be part of the<br />

gallery at all times.<br />

2. The use of golf carts, ladders or other equipment<br />

to gain extra advantage is prohibited.<br />

3. Photographers must not position themselves in<br />

the line of play or distract a player. If requested<br />

to move the photographer must do so without<br />

delay or discussion.
