How would you resolve a dispute about Fitness for Employment?<br />
If a dispute should occur about fitness for employment you should take the following steps<br />
to help resolve the dispute:<br />
Step 1:<br />
Make sure that workplace assessment has been conducted and a suitable Return To Work<br />
plan has been developed<br />
Step 2:<br />
Make sure that you or the rehabilitation provider has consulted with the doctor and worker<br />
about the workplace assessment and the Return To Work plan.<br />
Step 3:<br />
If necessary, refer to Injury Management Consultant to help reach a Return To Work<br />
agreement.<br />
Step 4:<br />
If doctor does not keep to the Return To Work agreement, have it reviewed by the Injury<br />
Management Consultant.<br />
Step 5:<br />
If agreement is still not reached:<br />
All parties agree on assessment by Approved Medical Specialist<br />
OR<br />
Refer to Workers Compensation Commission for assessment by Approved Medical<br />
Specialist<br />
Step 6:<br />
Parties to the dispute act in accordance with Approved Medical Specialist outcome.<br />
The key message is to communicate, cooperate, conciliate and so help prevent disputes<br />
happening in the first place.<br />

2. Mange Workers Compensation Claims<br />
3. Injury Management<br />
Hopefully effective Risk Management will mean that you are unlikely to need Claims<br />
Management and Injury Management.<br />
