The Hammer Bottom Charitable Trust has announced the running of the TittyWittering Challenge 2013 which will take place on Saturday 22nd June. (No I haven’t made these names up!) The event has been run previously in 2009 and 2011 and considerable sums were raised for breast cancer and prostate cancer. This year’s event follows the Lipchis way starting at Liphook, Hampshire, and goes via Titty Hill to Midhurst. Then it’s Singleton, Lavant, Chichester and finishing at West Wittering, West Sussex: a total of 38 miles. There are six events in the challenge; a 38 mile walk, a 38 mile run, a 19 mile walk, a 19 mile run, a 10 mile walk and a 10 mile run. Money raised will go to 3 charities; Dreams Come True, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Community First Responders. On Sunday 10th there is a 6¼ mile easy walk over Trottsford, Dockenfield and Saunders Green. Meet at the Holly Bush Pub Car Park (Grid Ref 186/822363). The organiser is Bob, 01932 355333. On Saturday 16th there is a 7 mile strenuous walk over Box Hill, High Ashurst and Cherkley Wood. Meet at Ryker’s Café Car Park, near Burford Bridge, below Box Hill (Grid Ref 187/171521). On Tuesday 19th February, from 2pm to 4pm, there is a Young People’s Macbeth Drama Workshop. If you’re aged 12-19 years old this is your opportunity to work alongside some of the cast from Macbeth. An afternoon combining drama games and a Shakespearean acting workout will get everyone under the skin of Shakespeare’s tormented tyrant and his chillingly evil wife. There’ll also be a backstage tour and a ticket to see the performance in the evening, all included in the cost of £18. Finally, on Wednesday 20th February, at 1.30pm at St Mary’s Church, you can see Macbeth Part II - The Seed of Banquo. Find out what happens after the events of Macbeth.
