The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> is a<br />
collegiate university, made up <strong>of</strong><br />
39 independent and selfgoverning<br />
<strong>College</strong>s, one <strong>of</strong> which<br />
is <strong>St</strong>. Hugh’s. All <strong>College</strong>s have a<br />
lot in common, but each will have<br />
its own character, charms and<br />
traditions. Each <strong>College</strong> is then<br />
split into three common rooms;<br />
the Senior, Middle and Junior<br />
C o m m o n R o o m s , w i t h<br />
undergraduate students making<br />
up the <strong>JCR</strong>, and graduate<br />
students and fellows in the other<br />
two.
