The University of Oxford is a
collegiate university, made up of
39 independent and selfgoverning
Colleges, one of which
is St. Hugh’s. All Colleges have a
lot in common, but each will have
its own character, charms and
traditions. Each College is then
split into three common rooms;
the Senior, Middle and Junior
C o m m o n R o o m s , w i t h
undergraduate students making
up the JCR, and graduate
students and fellows in the other
two.
