August 2008 - the Parklander

Jackie Mazin, a Corporate Event Planner with JM Family Enterprises, and David Rudnick, a Chiropractor with
Bartosek Chiropractic Center, met through mutual friends in 2006. They dated for nearly one year before David
popped the question. With David in Chiropractic school in Chicago, the couple racked up plenty of frequent flyer
miles on the weekends.
For the romantic proposal David whisked Jackie away to New York City for an exciting weekend. After dinner and
a Broadway show, David asked the cab driver to stop in Central Park where he had prearranged a horse and
carriage ride.The carriage stopped at a beautiful lake and romantic David popped the question.
The couple, who will marry on February 7, 2009, enjoy spending time with family and friends. For sentimental reasons, Jackie and David chose B’nai Torah
Congregation in Boca for the ceremony and reception—coincidentally, both Jackie and David had their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs in this same synagogue.The
couple plan to have an elegant, classy event, and have chosen ivory and champagne gold as their wedding theme colors.
The couple is hoping to book a honeymoon cruise to the Greek Isles and Italy.
Ashlee Ann Duplin, a TV personality with The Art News Network, and Christopher Kilayko, a Production
Specialist with NBC/Universal, met while studying at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in 2004. Ashlee
asked Chris to edit a special video segment for a fashion show she was co-hosting. He accepted and they
stayed up all night working. After a bit of a rocky start, they soon got to know each other and fell in love after
their first kiss.
After three and one half years of dating, Chris proposed to Ashlee on a whirlwind weekend to New York City.
They went skating in Rockefeller Center and Chris pretended to fall on the ice. Romantic Chris then got on
one knee and asked Ashlee to marry him. It was the perfect setting for a proposal!
Ashlee and Chris will be married on March 14, 2009 at St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale. They especially loved that it had very
old world Italian architecture. The formal reception will be held at the Fort Lauderdale Grande. Their 150 guests will be treated to a room themed with
elegant black, white and gold colors and Ashlee will wear a gorgeous ruffled ballgown from St. Pucci.
The couple plans to honeymoon in Europe and then reside in their condo in Pompano Beach.They hope to one day buy a home in Parkland.
Lindsay Poveromo, a student at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, and Aaron Joly, a student at UCF
studying accounting, met as teens at Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland. They saw each other in the hallway,
but were too nervous to speak. Eventually they did connect, first as friends and then, almost one year later, began
dating.They’ve been inseparable ever since!
The couple dated for five years before Aaron popped the question. Both dedicated cat enthusiasts, they volunteer
at Alley Cat Allies, an organization that provides food and health care to feral cats. Aaron proposed to Lindsay on
May 19, 2007 in the perfect setting—while they were feeding and playing with their beloved cats.
The couple’s ceremony and reception will be held on May 23, 2009 at the Addison in Boca Raton. The traditional reception will feature shades of white
and baby blue as the theme colors and the bride will wear a dress from Alfred Angelo.
After a honeymoon in the relaxing North Carolina mountains, Lindsay and Aaron plan to return to South Florida and purchase a home in the Coral
Springs or Boynton Beach area.
