Section 3 – Site Description Page 12 ARCHIVES SEARCH REPORT – FINDINGS Jenner 12th Naval District Target No. 29 Jenner, CA authorized activity, the action agency must request formal consultation with the USFWS. If the action agency determines that the planned action may jeopardize a proposed species or destroy or adversely modify proposed critical habitat, the action agency must enter into a section 7 conference with the USFWS. Candidate species are those for which there is sufficient information to support a proposal for listing. Although candidate species have no legal protection under the Act, the USFWS recommends that they be considered in the planning process in the event that they become listed or proposed for listing prior to project completion. No additional information on the occurrence of rare or endangered species or natural communities is known at this time. This does not mean that other State or Federally listed species may not be present within the areas of interest. An on site inspection by appropriate state and federal personnel may be necessary to verify the presence, absence or location of listed species, or natural communities if remedial action is recommended as part of the final ASR. 3.6 DEMOGRAPHICS 9 3.6.1 Centers of Activity The Jenner site is located near the city of Guerneville in Sonoma County, California. 3.6.2 Business and Industry Profile The number of business establishments in Sonoma County, California can be broken down by type as follows: manufacturing 6.5%; trade 26.4%; services and financial 46.8%; and other 19.1%. Of the people in the county employed by businesses, approximately 1.2% are unclassified. Foregoing percentages are at mid-March 1997. 3.6.3 Population density City/County Area (Sq. Mi.)
