<strong>LilyPond</strong>-specific term to <strong>in</strong>dicate the repetition of a musical expression on a s<strong>in</strong>gle staff, as<br />
opposed to the more usual def<strong>in</strong>ition of repeat, which affects all parts. The musical expression<br />
can be anyth<strong>in</strong>g from a s<strong>in</strong>gle note or note pattern to one or more measures. There are other<br />
names for this symbol:<br />

• slash mark, or slash repeat<br />
• beat repeat<br />
• measure (or multi-measure) repeat<br />
