Detonation Elimination Technology (DET)<br />

The DET system prevents damage to the engine from detonation by<br />

going into an engine protection mode whenever the DET system is<br />

active.<br />

When excessive detonation is detected,<br />

the check engine light will illuminate<br />

and you may notice decreased engine<br />

performance and RPM when the DET<br />

system is activated. In most cases this<br />

is temporary and the operator does not<br />

need to take any action. The engine<br />

will return to its normal performance<br />

automatically.<br />

If severe detonation occurs, the check engine light will begin to flash<br />

steadily and the gauge indicator will read “dET” (see illustration). The<br />

engine will enter a limp home mode and RPM will be limited to 6500<br />

RPM. The engine will remain in this mode until it is shut down and<br />

restarted.<br />
