PIN on the PIN pad. Entering information
by mouse through this PIN pad means
keystrokes cannot be captured because a
keyboard is not used for PIN entry. After
each digit is clicked, the PIN pad scrambles
so that the numbers are never in the same
location on the PIN pad. The system only
captures the coordinates of where the
cardholder clicked on the PIN pad — but
not the actual numbers — which means the
cardholder’s actual PIN cannot be captured
during the subsequent transmission and
processing. The coordinates are encrypted
at PIN entry and the transaction is securely
processed through ACCEL/Exchange.
Token values that represent actual PINs
are created through a unique, dynamically-
generated algorithm that protects the PIN
because no one sees it, and it never passes
through to the merchant.
Transactions are securely and seamlessly
routed and authorized in a PCI-compliant
processing environment.
Once the transaction has been successfully
processed, the PIN pad disappears and the
cardholder receives a payment confirmation
page from the merchant that they can print
and keep for their records. Secure Internet
PIN debit transactions are accurately
recorded on the cardholder’s financial
institution statement along with their other
point of sale activity.
