60 Peter Pan Wendy smiles, happier now. She nods and dries her eyes. Mrs Darling kisses her gently on the forehead We will be downstairs. There are a lot of extra hungry mouths to feed. Don’t be too long. Mrs Darling leaves the nursery Peter Pan flies into the nursery. He has been crying and has a tear-stained face He looks around as Wendy stands alone, smiling; she starts Wendy Peter! Peter (embarrassed) Er … hallo, Wendy. I just came to say. Peter (holding out his hand suddenly) No! (he moves towards Wendy; singing) Don’t say goodbye, it’s not the end I’m never far away So close your eyes and dream And I will seem to be Here by your side and I will mend The hurt you feel today Don’t say goodbye, just try To understand I’m me. Don’t cry too much when I am gone Or talk about my name There comes a time that we all know
