Dumbarton Joint, but the Christie <strong>and</strong> the Fruin Wards are in<br />

addition to the 122. So 122 acute plays 88 in the proposals if<br />

we manage to keep all the acute care there.<br />

would, as the slide says, see 27 elderly mental health beds<br />

provided in future against a current complement that is 30 <strong>and</strong><br />

for adult mental health 12 against the current complement of<br />

Let me get back to my sheet, now<br />

ophthalmology is not smoking mirrors, it’s both, okay, there is<br />

the opportunity, it’s both, some new stuff <strong>and</strong> some existing<br />

stuff <strong>and</strong> that’s the same with dentistry <strong>and</strong> the 20 dental<br />

chairs, that some of those are existing chairs that are provided<br />

but the opportunity is being taken to bring them together into a<br />

single centre.<br />

But the new stuff in ophthalmology,<br />

undoubtedly the new stuff includes day case cataract <strong>and</strong> other<br />

operations which have not been available locally. So there is<br />

new activity around that. We can give you a more detailed<br />

break out of the numbers but I mean my recollection for<br />

cataract surgery was it was of the order of 500 cases per annum<br />

<strong>and</strong> urology about which you have indeed made representations<br />

to me over a number of years, yes new both in terms of the
