FABRIC SPECIFICATIONS
The following pages include fabric specifications for the majority of Matthews Textiles, including definitions as to their primary use. Should you have any

FABRIC FABRIC APPROX WEBBING SAFETY PRIMARY USE
WIDTH LIGHT LOSS COLOR
Single Scrim - Black 24’ 0.6 Stops Green Flame Retardant Reduction of light intensity without changing
pattern or color temperature.
Single Scrim - White 24’ 0.5 Stops White Flame Retardant Reduction of direct light, but softens effect by
introducing ambient bounce.
Double Scrim - Black 24’ 1.2 Stops Red Flame Retardant Greater reduction of light intensity without
changing pattern or color temperature.
BOBINETT: Single, Double, Black, White, Silver, and Gold. Matthews nets come in four colors with varying
properties. Black Bobinett in its single form will reduce light intensity without changing the color temperature of
your shoot, with twice that as a double. White Bobinett will reduce the direct light in your shoot and soften that
effect by introducing ambient bounce, with again twice that effect as a double. Both White and Black Bobinett are
treated to be flame retardant, and the doubles are sewn by the industry technique to eliminate a moire pattern that
may adversely affect your shot.
Matthews Bobinett: you name it — we’ve got it!
Double Scrim - White 24’ 1.0 Stops White Flame Retardant Greater reduction of direct light, but softens
effect by introducing ambient bounce.
Triple Scrim - Black 24’ 1.8 Stops Blue Flame Retardant Greatest reduction of light intensity without
changing pattern or color temperature.
Could project a moiré pattern.
COLORNETT: Offered only through Matthews, ColorNETT is a new bobinett of either a Gold or Silver variety
that will lower the Kelvin temperature (Gold) or raise the Kelvin temperature (Silver) of your shoot. Example: ColorNETT
is perfect for that shot in the middle of the day (Gold) where you need just a little more warmth to match the rest
of your film.
All Matthews Bobinets are available in any size you want and can be purchased either by the yard or bolt.
