Very sound, very attractive, and has the calving ease, heifer bull look. He started with a very low birth weight, performed well, and scanned great giving him carcass EPDs as follows, YG
in the top 25% of the breed, Marb in the top 1%, and REA in the top 5%, along with a top 2% for API and top 1% for TI. Yes, he is absolutely one we have interest in and look forward to
getting the DNA 50K genomic data back prior to sale time.
Sire: KAPPES CROSSOVER W42 Dam: GIBBS 9323W DAISY 6S35 Maternal Sires: RCR STETSON T17 x DAKOTA TRAVELER 004-485
The individual birth weight on this Crossover son was not quite as low as the others but he is still extremely interesting because he is barely above breed average for BW EPD and has
YW and Marb EPDs in the top 1% of the breed along with a top 3% API and top 1% TI. It is rare to fi nd a young bull with growth and carcass predictions of this magnitude and be right at
breed average for birth weight. He is out of a very impressive Stetson fi rst calf heifer and his Daisy cow family granddam has weaned four calves with a 104 weaning ratio. This Crossover
son offers some very interesting genetics.
The Crossover son with the most impressive BW to YW EPD spread eluded the camera in the pasture. He is slightly smaller frame than the others selling and probably is the thickest
quartered, biggest middle of the group. He defi nitely has a rare combination of EPDs, ranking in the top 10% of the breed for CE, BW, MCE, Marb, and REA along with top 2% for YW
EPD, top 4% for API, and top 1% for TI.
Pioneer sons . . . have always been curve-benders exhibiting low
birth weight, excellent performance, and very high milk potential. All of
the Pioneer daughters we retain make great producing cows as proven
by his top 2% BW EPD, top 4% MM EPD, and top 5% All Purpose Index
(API). Pioneer has always proven to be a “slam-dunk” calving ease bull
for use on heifers and the reason we always use him as the clean-up
sire for our bred sale heifers. We know our customers will have success
calving those heifers bred to Pioneer.
