ARMS
Our bred female offering this year will be the biggest improvement of the entire
sale offering. We have never had bred heifers of this quality in our sale. Our
goal has been to offer bred heifers just as good as our open yearling heifers
and it has taken us a couple years to achieve that goal, but we feel comfortable
that goal has been reached this year. Many of the bred females this year are
seedstock breeder quality genetics.
These heifers have been managed exactly the same as our bred replacement
heifers. They have been running on KY-31 fescue and common Bermuda pasture
their whole life. The only supplemental feed they have gotten since they were
bred has been hay when needed, mineral, and the BC Calving and Rebreeding
tubs. They will be in excellent condition for calving and the way they are
uddering up right now, calving season will not be long after sale time.
The Rookie heifer we chose as our lead-off bred female this year is an absolute beauty . . . huge middle, sound structured, and just as feminine fronted as a dairy heifer. Her granddam is
the dam of our herd sire Stretch and also the dam of War Eagle, the high selling SimAngus bull in our sale last year that is now owned by Bozeman Farms in Mississippi. Her outstanding
Sure Bet dam has weaned two calves with a 117 weaning ratio. Her YW EPD blows completely off the charts in the elite top 1% of the breed, her MM EPD ranks in the top 10%, YG and
Marb both rank in the top 35%, REA in the top 1%, and her Terminal Index (TI) ranks in the top 2% of the breed. This female would make a huge genetic contribution to any seedstock
breeding program in the industry. All she needs to do is prove that she can produce as predicted and she can stand in any front pasture donor pen in the country.
This Rookie daughter would stand out in the pasture even without her shining chrome. Fancy fronted, huge middle, loaded with muscle, and making a beautiful udder, she is going to make
a tremendous mama.
