(O) HYDRAULIC PIPE LINE ERECTION, TESTING, PICKLING, FLUSHING AND<br />

COMMISSIONING<br />

Hydraulic pipe work shall be assembled, pressure tested, pickled, flushed <strong>and</strong><br />

commissioned as per piping instructions given by the system designer /<br />

consultant.<br />

Provision of pipe line pickling <strong>and</strong> flushing facility shall be in the scope of work<br />

(provision of separate tank, pumps filters elements, pickling <strong>and</strong> flushing fluids<br />

shall be the supplier’s scope).<br />

Supply of minimum 50 nos. of spare filter elements of each type along <strong>with</strong> the<br />

hydraulic system at the time of Erection, Testing <strong>and</strong> Commissioning shall be in<br />

the supplier’s scope of supply.<br />

Oil cleanliness shall be checked during commissioning <strong>and</strong> facilities <strong>for</strong> checking<br />

<strong>and</strong> monitoring oil cleanliness shall be in the bidders scope of supply.<br />

Suppliers Scope of Work in hydraulic pipe work shall also include :-<br />

1) Equipment Supplier shall give a comprehensive cleaning <strong>and</strong> flushing scheme<br />

<strong>for</strong> hydraulic systems <strong>and</strong> provide necessary facilities to carry out the<br />

activity.<br />

2) Adopt cleaning <strong>and</strong> flushing guidelines from ISO 5910.<br />

3) Hydraulic System cleaning <strong>and</strong> flushing documents shall be part of<br />

acceptance checks in the Quality Assurance Program. Compliance to this shall<br />

be reported in the overall QAP.<br />

4) Develop a plan <strong>for</strong> how to systematically control hook-up of subsystems into<br />

the main system. Documentation of results as part of the total flushing<br />

procedure. Describe cleaning <strong>and</strong> flushing connections <strong>and</strong> looping methods<br />

along <strong>with</strong> the details of components required to carry out the above.<br />

5) Suppliers to specify sampling points to be used <strong>for</strong> condition monitoring<br />

during flushing <strong>and</strong> in service.<br />

6) Connection program after cleaning <strong>and</strong> flushing is over <strong>with</strong> built-in check <strong>for</strong><br />

prevention of contaminants during connections <strong>and</strong> assembling.<br />

7) Acceptance norms shall be given by the Equipment Designer / Supplier.<br />

(P) All pipelines shall be of seamless type clamped <strong>with</strong> polypropylene heavy series<br />

clamps. However, in the hot zone heavy series aluminum clamps shall be used.<br />

(Q) All hydraulic pipe lines shall be painted as per the st<strong>and</strong>ard color mode.<br />

(R) Special Conditions <strong>for</strong> hydraulics:<br />

1) Off line filtration shall be provided <strong>and</strong> Differential pressure shall<br />

not be less than 0.3.<br />
