1. Remove the toe piece<br />
from the ski (remove all<br />
four mounting screws).<br />
2. Insert a flat blade screwdriver<br />
into the outside<br />
of the retention tab of<br />
the AFD retention slot.<br />

1. Remove the toe piece<br />
from the ski (remove all<br />
four mounting screws).<br />
2. Insert a flat blade screwdriver<br />
into the outside<br />
of the retention tab of<br />
the AFD retention slot.<br />

3. Repeat step 2 in the<br />
other retention tab slot<br />
to remove the toe piece<br />
from the baseplate.<br />
4. Place the baseplate on<br />
a flat surface and slide<br />
the AFD positioning<br />
yoke (two black metal<br />
pieces next to the angled<br />
portions of the silver<br />
AFD) forward to free the<br />
two AFD positioning tabs.<br />
5. Remove the AFD by<br />
lifting the front edge of<br />
the AFD out and then<br />
lifting the AFD forward.<br />

3. Repeat step 2 in the<br />
other retention tab slot<br />
to remove the toe piece<br />
from the baseplate.<br />
4. Place the baseplate on<br />
a flat surface and slide<br />
the silver AFD positioning<br />
yoke (two silver metal<br />
pieces next to the angled<br />
portions of the yellow<br />
AFD) forward to free the<br />
two AFD positioning tabs.<br />
6. Make sure the absorber<br />
(rubber) piece is<br />
positioned forward on<br />
the baseplate before<br />
replacing the AFD.<br />
7. Slide the replacement<br />
AFD into the baseplate<br />
AFD retention slot so<br />
that the AFD butts up<br />
against the molding of<br />
the baseplate. Fig D<br />
5. Remove the AFD (do<br />
not remove the small<br />
U-shaped wire spring).<br />

6. Slide the replacement<br />
AFD into the baseplate<br />
AFD retention slot so<br />
that it covers the silver<br />
portion of the tippler<br />
(cup-shaped piece).<br />
MAINTENANCE & REPAIR<br />
8. Press down on the AFD<br />
and slide the black AFD<br />
positioning yoke towards<br />
the AFD to retain the<br />
AFD positioning tabs.<br />
9. Position the toe piece<br />
over the AFD retention<br />
tabs and push it onto<br />
the baseplate until the<br />
retention tabs snap into<br />
the toe piece.<br />
10. Remount the toe piece.<br />
7. Press down on the AFD<br />
and slide the silver AFD<br />
positioning yoke towards<br />
the AFD to retain the<br />
AFD positioning tabs.<br />
8. Position the toe piece<br />
over the AFD retention<br />
tabs and push it onto<br />
the baseplate until the<br />
retention tabs snap into<br />
the toe piece.<br />
9. Remount the toe piece.<br />
