This play teaches us not only that learning comes from suffering, but that civilized<br />

alternatives to violence exist. Getting man to put these alternatives into practice in an ongoing<br />

problem for the human race. Athena’s vote for civilization rings true and clear, but man is always<br />

ready to introduce his own cacophony.<br />
